Bourbon Trail 2014: [Day 1 - Friday] [Day 2 - Saturday] [Day 3 - Sunday]

Sunday, July 27, 2014: We left Bardstown and headed north to Louisville. We could have visited Jim Beam when it opened at noon, but we had visited the gift shop the year before so we didn't feel it was necessary. Instead, we wanted to spend some time at the Louisville Slugger Factory.
Tom visited the batting cages while Debbie stood in line for tickets and admired this Hall of Fame exhibit.
We enjoyed the displays in the museum, ...
... and then had to put away our camera when it was our turn to tour the factory. We got to see bats being made and got to handle a lot of different styles of bats.
Of course, we had to get a photo of the giant bat outside the building.
There was a long line for the batting cages when we headed back to our car so we were really glad we started out there before anyone else figured out that it was there.
We decided to avoid the traffic between Louisville and Indianapolis on I-65 by going well out of our way to Cincinnati, with a short stop at a Waffle House along the way. Our destination, of course, was IKEA to pick up some storage boxes we had seen the previous month at the IKEA in Minnesota. These glass and metal shelves caught our eye as a possibility for remodeling our basement bar area.
Hmmm, these would be a nice way to store barware too. Someday, perhaps...

What's this? It was a teeny tiny version of the Swedish chairs we have in our guest room, and it was just the right size for the granddaughter we were expecting in four months. It came home with us.

** THE END **
