Claire Wiegand's Story: 1999 - 2000

For the third year, Claire attended Cumberland Road Elementary, in Mrs. Etter's Life Skills class. It was nice to have stability in Claire's schooling after switching schools so often when she was younger, including the same great teacher and aides and the same classmates.

	On her 10th birthday, Claire was delighted with her new present: an electronic talking pig. (July 1999)
	We visited Seattle for Spring Break. Claire wanted to feel the water in the fountain as we walked along the waterfront in Seattle. (April 2000)

	Here's Claire on the beach along the Washington coast. We used Claire's Maclaren Major Buggy (a large umbrella-style stroller) to get her down the hill to the beach since she didn't want to walk there. (April 2000)

	We visited an amusement park in the Wisconsin Dells on an overcast day. Lucky Claire was the only child on the swing ride and loved it! (June 2000)
	That same afternoon, Claire got a thrill out of the land portion of the Wisconsin Ducks tour. The teething toy she was holding gave her something to chew on when she needed to clamp down on something. (June 2000) Next: 2000 - 2001
