Colorado River 2006:
Day 1 - Las Vegas

	Friday, July 14, 2006: We flew into Las Vegas in the morning, dropped off our luggage at our hotel, and made our way to the MGM Grand shortly after noon.
	We visited the Lion Habitat for a few minutes to see the big cats, just like we had on a visit to Las Vegas two years earlier.
	We crossed the Strip and went into New York New York.
	Here's the entrance to the Manhattan Express rollercoaster. We didn't ride it this time.
	We had lunch at New York New York, then took the escalator into Excalibur. We shopped our way through the Excalibur ...
	... the headed to the Luxor.
	A couple of minutes later, we were entering Mandalay Bay.
	We had to stop for a couple of photos ...
	... outside the House of Blues.
	Next, we went to the Mandalay - Excalibur Tram station.
	The tram starts at Mandalay Bay, ...
	... makes a stop at the Luxor, ...
	... then deposits you at the Excalibur.
	We crossed the Strip again, ...
	... and headed back past the MGM Grand.
	Behold the majestic MGM Lion!
	There's a look at New York New York across the street.
	We made our way up the block ...
	... to visit M&M World ...
	... and the Coca-Cola Store, where we tasted and ranked Coca-Cola-brand sodas from around the world.
	We returned to our hotel, the Residence Inn Hughes Center, and checked into our room. Who's that in the pool down there?
	It's none other than our nephew, Stewart! We met up with his parents, Doug and Susan, and Debbie's dad and stepmother for dinner, then attended an orientation in the hotel about our river trip which would be starting very early the next day. Day 2 >
