Monday, December 9, 2002: Our day in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
started out at Dunn's River Falls. It was a park with an amazing
series of falls which can easily be climbed. Unfortunately, we didn't
take any photos, since we didn't want to get our digital camera
wet, and didn't think to get a quick shot when we were done, so
here is a stock photo. Imagine us having fun in a tropical setting.
Next up, we spent several hours at Dolphin Cove, a lovely little
sanctuary with dolphins, sharks, reggae music and a small beach.
We saw a shark feeding demonstration. The sharks were nurse sharks
who lived in a enclosed pond.
Here is the first of what would become a series of feet shots.
Inspired by the Corona commercials (and SNL's inspired parodies
of the commercials), we decided to photograph our feet in each tropical
destination.
Here we are with full bellies after enjoying Jamaican jerk chicken
and Red Stripe beer for lunch. Barely visible in the distance is
our cruise ship.
After lounging in the sun for a while, we were joined by a tiny
lizard. He amused us greatly, and we took many photos of him until...
... his more attractive friend came along.
Time for one obligatory tourist shot by the Dolphin Cove sign before
heading back to the ship.
What a glorious ship it is! Certainly the finest ship in port that
day.
Here is where our room was located on this fine ship. |
And here's the view of Ocho Rios from our balcony. We strongly
recommend getting a room on the starboard (right) side of the ship,
especially for a Western Caribbean cruise, as we faced Cuba both
days at sea, and usually faced each port too.

Here's a better view from the balcony ...
... and another.
