Saturday, November 23, 2019: Is there anything better than sleeping in and waking up to a sunny day at sea?

We had omelettes to order for breakfast. Decadent!
Since we had a large balance on our account from our shore excursion cancellation the day before, we received a letter summoning us down to Guest Services where we had to wait in line to get a cash refund. Actual cash.
Once we got back to our room, we received another letter summoning us down to Guest Services where we had to wait in line again to get our confiscated extension cord.
Correction: Tom waited in line while Debbie played on her phone.
Here is the contraband item.
We had a leisurely buffet lunch washed down with Pepsi Max. It isn't Diet Coke, but it'll do.
Then there was some relaxing on the balcony.
It turns out that Tom can sneak a photo of Debbie while she's not looking too.
Around 4:00 PM, we spotted some rain in the distance.
Ten minutes later, it hit. Did this bother us? Nope! Our trusty balcony overhang kept everything dry.
An hour later, we spotted something way off in the distance.
It was the Carnival Glory, heading back to New Orleans just like we were.
We headed up to dinner around 5:30.
The watermelons told us that tonight was Grill Extravaganza.
The cake did too.
We were very pleased with our decision to skip the ship's other restaurants all week, because we really enjoyed our private buffet dinners at the back of the ship.
The Kids Corner desserts were as cute as always.
The regular desserts all followed the same pattern of decoration - stab a triangle of chocolate into the top of the cake/cheesecake/mousse and call it done. We never tried any of them and stuck to our beloved soft-serve for dessert.
We went to the arcade to get a couple more ducks for our grandkids. We were really here to play Pac-Man Smash again, but other passengers had discovered how fun it was to play so we didn't get a chance.
Around 6:00 PM, we started spotting oil rigs out in the Gulf from our balcony.
There's Carnival Glory passing by an oil rig.
Let's zoom in on that oil rig a bit. There's another one in the distance beyond it.
We headed up to Deck 15 to see what was on the other side of the ship, ...
... and were rewarded with this view of four oil rigs.
Here's a closer view of the one on the left ...
... and the one on the right.
By 8:00 PM, we were getting very close to the mouth of the Mississippi River, ...
... and a half hour later, we were nearly there, ...
... so the pilot boat showed up to deliver our pilot.
Shortly after 9:00 PM, we were back in the Mississippi, ...

and an hour later, it was starting to look well-populated.
