Monday, March 20, 2017: After eating our leftover club sandwich from the night before, we were in the hotel lobby before 4:00 AM to check out and board the bus back to the airport. |
Once we were in line, that was the last of the Celebrity service and we were back to being independent travelers.
We had seen these amazing wood benches when we first arrived in Quito, so we took some time to get a better look at them.
We sat on the inward curve of the bench and then the outward curve. Both were pleasant enough to sit on, but we couldn't figure out a way to smuggle these back home in our backpacks.
By 6:30 AM, it was starting to get light out on the airport runway.
We took off on schedule and were over the Andes in northern Ecuador in no time.
Breakfast was delicious.
Of course, we couldn't pass up an opportunity to watch "Moana" again.
Here is what appears to be the top of South America, ...
... then two hours later, the Florida Keys appeared.
At 11:00 AM, we landed in Miami.
As always, the fish artwork dazzles.
So cool. We could look at these for hours.
After immigration, customs, rechecking luggage, and going back through security, we treated ourselves to some deep-fried seafood and foofy drinks.
Several hours later, it was time to board another plane.
Off we go!
No meal service this time and we weren't very hungry, so we bought some snacks in lieu of dinner.
|
We crossed the Ohio River into Indiana as the sun was going down. It's good to be home.
