Armed with her graceful, soaring voice, and her undeniable skill for carving out everyday images in almost startling detail, Edie Carey grabs hold of her audiences and doesn't let go until she steps off the stage. While her songs are what first draw listeners in, it's what she says in between them that keeps them there. As much a part of her show as the music itself, Carey's wry and often self-mocking humor, coupled with her ability to tell a great story, leave her fans feeling as though they have just spent an evening with a very close friend.

"Edie Carey has the voice, the songs, and the presence that will take her right up alongside such stars as Shawn Colvin and Ani DiFranco," said Matt Smith of Club Passim. Less than one year later, Carey was selected from over 400 applicants to perform for 18,000 people...the headliner...Ani DiFranco.

When she was nominated for a GLAMA award, she was again paired with DiFranco. Whether performing on festival stages such as The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, or unplugged in college coffeehouses at Columbia's Postcrypt, Carey gets intimate with her audiences, engaging them in her own unique version of truth or dare. "She effortlessly lures people into her musical spell," said Fred Nelson of Entertainment Weekly, "and then she continues to entrance when the music stops."

Hailing from New York City, Jennifer Marks has been described as everything from talented and refreshing to down right brilliant. Her debut CD "Pizza," released in 1998, was just the start of her adventure into the world of performing. Marks successfully managed to make a name for herself on the New York City music scene, tickling the funny bone and warming the ears of audiences and critics alike.

Time Out New York said, 'Not only does Marks have great songs but she knows just how to throw 'em at you." Radio also had a strong response to Jennifer's music. She made a live appearance on WFUV and was a selected Artist for WFUV's NightBird Series co-presented by The Bottom Line. WLIR featured Jennifer as their independent artist of the week. Not only did "Pizza" bring Jennifer critical acclaim, it afforded her the opportunity to record the first release for her record company Red Kurl Records, "My Name's Not Red."

Late breaking news! We are excited to announce that Edie will also be accompanied for portions of her performance by Indiana native Kara Barnard, a very talented guitar and mandolin player.

With her intuitive vocals and head-on delivery, singer-songwriter Christine Kane taps the stratosphere of acoustic purity. Wrapping her heart around a lyric, she never loses touch with the music for an instant. Her voice and guitar style were honed across the country, playing the kind of bar gigs that either kill you or send you screaming into the limelight. Kane was lucky: Her talent for songwriting was the edge that kept her going, while her sweet vocals were the ticket to some pretty high-visibility stuff -- like opening for Nanci Griffith, Los Lobos, Shawn Colvin, The Beach Boys and others. This year she has been on tour with many other acts, including the Nields. Her song “Tucson” made her a finalist in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest 2000.
