Sunday, July 3, 2022: We met Jill and Jared in the lobby at 7:30 AM. Jill's not mad, just a little sleepy, and Jared was moving a little slowly too, but so were we. |
We took an Uber to the airport and used priority check-in and security since we had Priority Select tickets on Southwest. |
LEGO! Debbie stopped dead in her tracks but resisted the temptation admirably. |
We had breakfast at Tequileria with lots of comfort food and caffeine. |
We were the very first to board after a handful of families with children so we scored the only exit row with two seats on a side, which was exactly what we were aiming for. |
Soon we were off, ... |
... and flying over the Las Vegas Strip. |
The very best part of any flight from Las Vegas to Indianapolis is flying over the Grand Canyon, ... |
... especially if you can see the river where you lived for a week. |
There's the inner gorge where the walls are steep and the river is harder to spot. |
Farewell, Colorado River. Until the next time. |
This looks a bit like the river but it isn't. It's a strip of land used by the road from Jacob Lake Inn to the Grand Canyon's North Rim. We drove that route last November. |
There's the Little Colorado Gorge coming in from the upper left and meeting up with the Colorado River running from lower left to mid-right in this shot. |
Oh, and we got snacks ... |
... and a drink, so we clinked to a fantastic trip.
