Special Olympics 2002

Challenge Day 2002 was held on October 19, 2002. For the second year, our daughter Claire was a participant with the Special Olympics Hamilton County team. Click on the photos below to see a larger version.

Terri Kriston welcomed the athletes, partners, families and friends to the Challenge Day.	The Hamilton County group listened to Terri's opening remarks.
This woman's enthusiasm caught my attention last year, so I was delighted to see her back again this year.	Claire's aide helped her with the football challenge.
Ashley and Claire waited patiently for their turns.	Jeremy and Chris put the balls into the baskets. The two boys helping Chris were absolute saints. When Chris ran out of steam later in the day, these boys practically carried Chris back to his seat with kindness and patience.
CeCe tried her hand at batting.	A couple of the Indiana Firebirds cheerleaders, the Flames, stopped by to meet the athletes. Corey was all smiles as they talked to him and posed for photos with him.
Claire received her medal for participating. She loved it when they announced her name over the loudspeaker.	Corey received his medal of participation while everyone clapped.
