Wednesday, April 17, 2024: Here are photos of our LEGO purchases from the previous day. Debbie filled a large box at the Pick & Build wall, ...
... and Tom purchased the LEGO City Command Rover and Crane Loader model.
We departed the Motel 6 a little after 8:00 AM, and picked up breakfast from McDonald's ...
... before continuing our drive eastward.
Did we mention that the Blue Angels were based in Pensacola? Yes. Yes we did.
It was a very pleasant drive under clear blue skies.
At a rest area break, we were welcomed by a local squirrel who gave us feedback on where we chose to park.
For lunch, we stopped at Dairy Queen where we saw an amazing showcase of all of their product sizes. We'd never seen that before and thought that every store should have one.
We both ordered cheeseburgers, accompanied by one side of fries and one side of cheese curds. The burgers were absolutely delicious. We always forget how great their food is until the next time we have it.
There was a long stretch on the south side of the highway where a solar farm was being built.
Just before 2:00 PM, we reached the junction with I-75. Beyond this point was the last remaining stretch of I-10 that we needed to drive.
We drove through Osceola National Forest, ...
... and on toward Jacksonville.
There was a lot of neon on this pest control company sign.
Just before 3:00 PM, we completed the last mile of I-10, ...
... where it becomes either I-95 north or I-95 south. We got off at Stockton Street, ...
... and headed to Bold City Brewing, which was a conveniently located turn around spot.
We went inside the tap room and purchased two pint glasses for keep as mementos of our drive across I-10.
As we left the brewery, we passed this beautiful art display that's part of the CoRK Arts District.
We immediately got back on I-10, headed west this time, ...
... and took it back to the junction with I-75 north.
Every time we get gas, Tom gets to clean the windshield.
Welcome to Georgia, ...
... land of billboards, ...
... Coca-Cola, ...
... and peanuts.
We stopped for the night at the Relax Inn in Perry, Georgia.
