Monday, July 27, 2015: We had signed up for the Ultimate Balcony Dining breakfast. Since it was cold out, we chose to have it served indoors instead. After a major mixup involving the omelettes being delivered alone and some tense phone calls between waiters, we finally ended up with this: glasses of champagne and stacks of plates with plastic tops. So romantic.

For $45 (plus tips for two different waiters thanks to the errors), this was not the romantic meal we were expecting. We unpacked all the food and arranged it ourselves. As annoyed as we were, it was still a better alternative than going to the buffet restaurant. We ate the hot food and saved the rest of the food for future breakfasts, including the pastries, rolls, and smoked salmon (which we turned into salmon sandwiches).
We spent much of the day resting up from a solid week of walking every day.
We were travelling around the north end of Scotland. Being on the starboard side of the ship meant that we were always facing the mainland, which was wonderful.
For lunch, we treated ourselves to our favorite cruise ship lunch: burgers and hot dogs from the poolside restaurant. It was fairly deserted around the pool but the hot tubs were always filled with kids.
While we were eating, movie trivia started at 1:00 on the jumbo screen. We were riveted for nearly an hour and had a great time playing.
When our favorite movie of all time was one of the answers, we were beside ourselves with joy.
It was cold and windy all day, with occasional rain, but since we were on the top deck with a large overhang above us, we never got rain on our balcony.
Instead, we were just able to enjoy the scenery passing by us.
Pretty.
On our way to dinner, we passed a group of passengers performing in the atrium.
One of Debbie's favorite parts of a cruise is anytime an appetizer is offered that contains caviar or roe. This seafood appetizer was a definite winner.
We both ordered the Beef Wellington because it isn't something we see on menus other than on cruise ships, so that's when we eat it.
We stuck around for another special chocolate dessert, and once again, it was well worth it.
Here's another shot of the cold north of Scotland.

At bedtime, it was still fairly light out, but we could see the light from a lighthouse in the distance.
