Canada/West 2022:
Day 19 - Mt. Rainier National Park

	Sunday, August 28, 2022: Susan, Doug, and Lollie bid us farewell a little after 10 AM. It had been a fantastic, if brief, visit.
	We made our way south through Kirkland, admiring the more unique houses, on our way ...
	... to the Ivar's near Houghton Beach Park.
	We had about 15 minutes before they opened, so we walked down to the park, ...
	... and enjoyed the wildlife and the scenery on the lake.
	Tom watched as a float plane practiced take-offs and landings on the far side of Lake Washington.
	Right at 11 AM, we headed back to Ivar's and got scallops, fish and chips, and a side of clams, and washed it down with two ice cold Diet Cokes. We absolutely love meals at Ivar's.
	As we made our way out of the Seattle area, we saw this black and silver Mustang GT driven by a fan of the Mandalorian. We didn't see the driver's face, but, you know, that is the way.
	We drove through Renton, past the Boeing factory, ...
	... and on to the Southcenter Mall.
	There was one more LEGO Store in the Seattle area, and we were going to get them all.
	The shark-boy oversized minifig and his hedgehog companion greeted us, ...
	... and Debbie did her thing at the Pick & Build wall.
	Check out this LEGO tiger! Once again, we left with a filled Pick & Build cup and a stamp in Debbie's LEGO passport.
	Oooh. Mount Rainier looks beautiful today. Let's go there!
	Check out this statue of a giant crow eating dropped French fries! It had steps up its back so that you could climb up to the head. The statue is at the entrance of Les Gove Park in Auburn.

	We were on the north side of Mount Rainier, driving along the Mather Memorial Parkway through Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The national forest extends from the northern edge of Mount Rainier National Park all the way north to the Canadian border.
	Around 2:30 PM, we reached the Dalles campground, our destination for this day.
	Our campsite was a short distance from the White River, ...
	... in its own little secluded area.
	Did you remember that we stopped at a LEGO Store on the way here? We finally remembered to photograph the Pick & Build cup we filled earlier.
	We got camp set up, checked the weather, and decided to leave the rainfly off again tonight.
	Before dinner, we walked over to the river's edge.
	Bits of moss were draped from this tree's branches.

	There were so many things going on with this tree bark that we just stood there and looked at it for a long time.
	There were stones, very large stones, still embedded in this knocked down tree. Amazing.
	Debbie hunched down to get a close up shot ...
	... of this bright green bush with red berries.
	Isn't nature amazing? Everything on this bush was green except this one branch, which was bright red.
	We love this tent. Have we mentioned that?
	Tom got out the camp stove and boiled water for dinner, ...
	... with extra water for hot chocolate. What a treat!
	Dinner was grilled chicken quattro formaggi pasta. This was a new flavor for us and will definitely become one of our favorites.
	We settled into the tent after dinner to read and relax, ...
	... and enjoy the lovely weather and sunlight through our tent's skylight. Day 20 >
